Republican losses spark calls for RNC Chairwoman Ronna McDaniel to resign or be removed
[U.S Politics] The Republican Party suffered a major setback in the 2023 elections, losing key races in deep red states. The losses have led to calls for RNC Chairwoman Ronna McDaniel to resign.

After the lackluster 2022 midterms Ronna McDaniel was able to win re-election to an unprecedented fourth term chairing the Republican National Committee.
McDaniel has defended her record as RNC Chairwoman, saying that
she has worked hard to rebuild the party and make it more competitive. However,
she has also acknowledged that the party needs to do more to appeal to a wider
range of voters.
Opinion: The party needs to change direction in leadership and on the key issue of abortion.
By changing their message on abortion to be more in line with the views of the American people, the Republicans could win over more voters and increase their chances of winning in 2024. (Lashaun Turner -Black Political Opinion)
Political pundit and Fox News commentator Kayleigh McEnany posted similarly on X:
It is imperative that the GOP develop a national strategy on abortion, which includes (1) exposing the extremity of the left and (2) supporting mothers.
On (2), Republicans must be pro-baby AND pro-mother. This means embracing @SenMarcoRubio's "Providing for Life Act" and now-@SpeakerJohnson's "Unborn Child Support Act" among other proposals that support women.

The calls for McDaniel's resignation are likely to grow louder
in the coming days and weeks. It remains to be seen whether she will survive
the current crisis or whether she will be forced to step down.
