Opinion: It’s Time the Media Shift Focus from Trump's Trials to Biden's Track Record
Whether you celebrate the guilty verdict or think the trial was political, Trump will be on the ballot in November.
As the dust settles on the Trump trial, a new chapter unfolds in the political landscape. The spotlight needs to now turn to President Joe Biden, and it's time to assess his performance during his tenure.
The media, having been engrossed in the drama of Trump’s numerous trials, must now redirect its attention to the current administration's actions and their impact on the nation.
Since assuming office, President Biden has been at the helm of a nation grappling with numerous issues. The economic situation is a significant concern. We have experienced a period of the highest inflation in decades.
The border crisis has seen historic numbers of illegal alien migrants entering the country. Meanwhile, foreign relations have eroded as wars and aggression have broken out across the world.
The kitchen table issues are what Americans are concerned about most and revolve around practical everyday problems and challenges that affect their quality of life and financial stability. These issues include:
Inflation and the cost of living: The rising cost of groceries, gas, and other essential items is a significant concern. This impacts the ability of many households to make ends meet.
Economic stability: Concerns about job security, income growth, and overall economic health.
Safety and security: Issues related to personal safety, crime rates, and national security.
Housing affordability: The cost of housing and the availability of affordable homes.
These issues reflect the concerns of everyday Americans and their desire for a government that addresses these problems and makes life easier for American families.
We have a unique opportunity in that there is a track record of both candidates that allows us the ability to objectively compare, and contrast based on outcomes.
Trump and Biden are two sides of the same coin. Meaning that politicians lie, cheat and steal. There is corruption at the core of politics. Many voters would agree with that. There are reasons to despise both parties.
That’s why its crucial that we remember the importance of making voting decisions based on policy and performance, rather than emotion. While emotions can be a powerful motivator in many aspects of life, they can also cloud judgment and lead to decisions that may not be in our best interest in the long run.
Whether you celebrate the guilty verdict or think the trial was political, Trump will be on the ballot in November.
The media must now play its part in this process, ensuring that the public is well-informed about the state of the nation under President Biden's leadership.
