According to a CBS News report Border Patrol is on track this month to record an all time high for the number of migrant apprehensions since December and May 2022.
The federal government is spending billions of dollars to deal with the border crisis, including on border security, humanitarian aid, clothing, feeding, sheltering, and processing asylum seekers.
Congress and the President have not been able to agree on how to secure the border to decrease immigration.
There is a deep partisan divide on immigration issues in the United States.
Republicans generally favor a more restrictive approach to immigration, including increased border security.
Democrats generally favor a more lenient approach, including comprehensive immigration reform.
This partisan divide has made it difficult for Congress to pass any meaningful legislation on immigration, including border security.

The United States has always been a nation of immigrants, but in recent years the surge in illegal immigration is putting a strain on certain aspects of American society.
In addition to the economic costs, the border crisis is also having a negative impact on social cohesion.
The influx of migrants is straining local communities and leading to tensions and divisions.
This is particularly true in border communities and sanctuary cities which are already struggling with high poverty and crime rates.

We are utilizing tax-payer funded resources for non-citizens many who are simply fleeing economic hardship. So many Americans are also having economic hardships.
Most Americans recognize the value of legal immigrants and are compassionate to those who are truly fleeing violence and/or persecution.
However, at some point the question becomes are we reaching a breaking point with illegal immigration, and, when is our government going to do something to stop it ?

This is going to shock you Miss Turner, but I agree wholeheartedly with this journalistic piece. There are way too many people in this country struggling every day just to barely make it by. America needs to take care of current ongoing problems before allowing all of these other people into the country. I am not against responsible immigration, but the current policies are not the answer.
